Meet the Founder

Destinee Kerr

A proud graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, Destinee Kerr is a communications strategist and HBCU advocate dedicated to elevating Black college culture through storytelling, service, and impact-driven experiences.

At Xavier, she served as a marketing lead on major campus initiatives, including the “Give Love Xavier” campaign, helping raise over $720,000 for student success.

She also expanded her media experience through hosting and content collaborations with HBCU Buzz and correspondence support for HBCU Pulse, strengthening her presence in HBCU storytelling and media.

These experiences inspired her to create HBCU Friendsgiving, a growing initiative focused on feeding, supporting, and celebrating HBCU students during the holiday season. What began at Xavier has expanded to campuses including Prairie View A&M and Dillard University, blending marketing, culture, and service into meaningful student-centered experiences. At her core, Destinee Kerr builds legacy-driven spaces that celebrate, connect, and uplift the HBCU experience.
